Our Wedding

Jordyn and Alex first officially met as students at Oglethorpe University while both were working on a student production. Backstage and on, their separate duties kept them busy. Jordyn made an early lasting impression on Alex by offering to alter his favorite coat. Though their worlds remained largely separate, he would wear her work on his sleeves for many years to come, unaware that their threads of destiny would someday entwine.In the times following graduation, these two would strike forth into the world on their own paths. Jordyn sojourned to Spain, where she would teach English to the youth of Madrid and continue to stun the world with an ever-growing wardrobe of her own creation. Alex cut his teeth on a myriad of artistic pursuits as close as Brookhaven and as far as North Dakota.These fated lovers would share their journeys online, and both watched the other with a distant eye of respect and admiration for the person they were becoming.Jordyn returned to Atlanta, and Cupid’s arrow found its mark when a “Let’s catch up!” extended by Jordyn was raised to a “Let me buy you dinner” by Alex.Their first date was the evening of November 2nd. 2023. It wasn’t long before being apart felt stranger than the alternative. On the night of their first New Year’s Eve together, at a party hosted by Alex’s cousin Simon and his fiancée Grace, Alex and Jordyn snuck away past midnight to confess their love beneath a sky full of fireworks.The couple went on to have many adventures over the next two years. They came to share a love of road trips, camping, creating, and most of all dressing up together.On December 31st, 2025, Alex proposed to Jordyn in the very same backyard where they first said, “I love you.” With the help of Grace and Simon, Alex had rigged a surprise fireworks show to celebrate her acceptance and give honor to their first profession of love. Jordyn and Alex went on to celebrate their newly engaged bliss, surrounded by family and friends as they rang in the New Year.

What began in 1973 as a proposal to the city council is now a 30 acre green jewel in Atlanta's cultural crown.The Botanical Gardens have many permanent installations of breathtaking works of sculpted nature including an Orchid Garden, an indoor rainforest, a Japanese garden, and many gargantuan statues of carefully grown and arranged plants. It's a bucket-list item for anyone who has yet to visit.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Founded as Atlanta Cemetery in 1850, Oakland Cemetery was given its name in 1872 to reflect the many oaks and magnolias that grow nearby. Here, you'll find exquisite works of sculpture, magnificent mausoleums, Kenny Roger's grave, as well as many other titans of southern history! Admission is free and highly encouraged.
